Strength Training


This is a possible vendor. Each team can choose their own vendors so long as they are following the AA program guidelines.

Strength training for Ringette, at most every level, is still an important component of the game. Being skilled and agile does not make a complete player; the athlete also needs muscle strength, stamina, and flexibility to get you through the grind of a season successfully.

Strength can be converted into power and explosiveness on the ice. Flexibility can dramatically reduce the risk of injury and greater stamina can improve the functional output and improve performance. These are just a few reasons why serious Ringette players incorporate a strength program regimen into their training.

The goals of strength training (based around the U19AA level) are as follows:

  • On Ice Explosiveness
  • Proper Recovery Routines
  • Improved Mobility and Flexibility
  • Maximize Shift Effectiveness and Endurance
